Taylor
Taylor Swift, the rarest pop star, is one who managed to move between the genres of country and mainstream pop culture and become an icon of the world of pop. The singer also swept the entire globe in the process. Swift is shedding her roots in the country as if they were second skins and has proven herself to be one of the most savvy pop singer/songwriter of her time. Swift is able to tap into the current trend and make it her personal. Swift's early hits, especially the neo tribute to Tim McGraw, showed off her talents. But her 2008 album Fearless revealed a songwriter who was re-discovering herself and was able to draw a wide audience. The album was able to have significant legs not only in the U.S. where it racked seven platinum singles on the strength of the Top Ten hits Love Story and Belong with Me Belong with Me but throughout the globe, performing especially well with Australia, U.K. Canada and Australia. Speak Now delivered almost two years later, which consolidated the achievement and propelled Swift to the heights of stardom. She grew in popularity through her subsequent three albums: Red (2012) 1989 (2014) and Reputation (2017). Swift had now established herself in a genre where she belonged. The popularity of her music grew after she changed her strategy with 2020's pared-down siblings Folklore (and Evermore) and stayed atop of the pop world.
